Since its inception in 1996, Shozna has consistently risen to acclaim, earning recognition as the quintessential destination for authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine in Rochester and beyond.

Nestled in the historic heart of Rochester, on Maidstone Road, Shozna stands as the revered "community jewel" of the town. Under the culinary guidance of award-winning Executive Chef Jamal Ahmed, affectionately known as Jay, the independently-owned restaurant offers an eclectic menu showcasing delectable modern Asian dishes.

Shozna’s cuisine reflects the rich tapestry of the Indian sub-continent, with its subtle tastes and varied flavours mirroring the diverse climates, cultures and traditions found across this vast land.

A testament to its acclaim, the restaurant has been graced by the presence of numerous celebrities, with the latest addition being the esteemed chef Danny McDonnell.

Hailing from Anfield, Danny is renowned as the chef for Liverpool FC. His culinary expertise has extended to serving as the head chef for the 2012 London Olympics, as well as Team Fury Boxing LTD, and recently, he has directed his focus towards his nutritional product Revival7.

The Shozna team were honoured to host Danny, who, during his visit, generously donated a football to the restaurant. In expressing his gratitude, he remarked: "We would like to donate this ball as a thank you from Liverpool FC for the effort and hard work Shozna has put in."

While curry remains at the heart of Shozna's offerings, there are clear variations among regions. For instance, Bangladeshis prefer fish dishes with rich sauces served with rice, while South India and Pakistan lean towards spicier meat dishes accompanied by bread and chapattis.

Shozna curates a dining experience that showcases the best of these culinary heritages, presenting mouth-watering dishes from Moghul cuisine, often hailed as the 'Food of Kings.'

Guests can delve into a carefully curated menu featuring Tandoori delights, Shozna specialities, Bangladeshi dishes, Balti specialities, chef's recommendations, traditional dishes and Biryani delights.
