The vehicle was located parked in Crown Quay Lane a short time later and the constables approached and spoke to the two occupants.

A search was completed and a mobile phone plus around £1,500 in cash was seized. A further search led to the recovery of 17 deals of suspected cocaine and the two men were arrested.

Jack Humphries, 25, of Colonels Lane, Boughton-under-Blean and Billy Willett, 30, of Tettenhall Way, Faversham, were later charged by investigators from North Kent CID, with possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

The latter was also charged with possessing criminal property (namely the seized cash).

They appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where Mr Willett was remanded and Mr Humpries was bailed to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, May 31.
