Gavin Tait faces the fight of his life when he challenges for the vacant Southern Area welterweight crown.

The Sheerness boxer knows he has just one last chance to make a name for himself in the sport and tops the bill at the Coronet Theatre in Elephant & Castle, London, tomorrow (Friday) when he meets highly-fancied Chas Symonds.

British ranked No.49 Tait (pictured) has warned his opponent about taking him lightly ahead of the 10-round bout.

"There are going to be fireworks in the ring and I am going to take the fight to him," said a fired-up Tait.

"I am not messing around. It’s my last shot. I’m 35 and it’s either now or never. I am taking this seriously and am up for it.

"It’s the one I’ve been waiting for and I have got a good feeling about the fight. I have taken six weeks off work to prepare and I’ve been training like a lunatic. I am ready for it.

"Chas is a tough lad and game enough but he might be taking me too lightly.

"I am serious about winning this fight and determined to do my talking in the ring."
