Teenage e-scooter rider dies after colliding with BMW in Coxheath near Maidstone

A teenage e-scooter rider has died after colliding with a BMW.

Police shut Heath Road in Coxheath near Maidstone for more than 10 hours following the incident last night.

Officers were called to the scene at 10pm, and forensic teams were still working at the site this morning.

Police say a white BMW and a black e-scooter collided while travelling in the same direction along Heath Road towards Coxheath.

A teenage boy was confirmed deceased at the scene.

The serious collision investigation unit (SCIU) attended and is investigating the incident.

The road reopened at about 8am and floral tributes have started to appear at the roadside.

Anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV taken in the area which might assist inquiries is being urged to come forward. It can be shared here.
