A man needed hospital treatment after a fire broke out in a home in East Malling.

The patient was treated for smoke inhalation at the address in Blatchfield Close, but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Firefighters were called to the incident at 9.05am today.

It's thought the flames were sparked when a hob was accidently switched on.

The fire was out by 9.15am.
