A boxing club, an organisation which helps teenagers help others in trouble and a hospice are among several charities to get a share of cash from police.
The cash was given out by area commander for Mid Kent, Chief Supt Matthew Nix, at Maidstone Police Station, in Palace Avenue.
The money comes from the Police Property Fund, which raises cash from the auction of recovered property, if the rightful owners cannot be traced.
Chief Supt Nix told those at the presentation: “It is a very worthwhile way for us to say a huge thank you for what you do.
“Your work makes a huge difference and we would never under estimate that.”
