Murder detectives search undergrowth

ROADS were sealed off today when a group of about 10 police officers searched in undergrowth below the M2 near Painters Forstal.

The search was conducted by Metropolitan Police officers in connection with a killing that took place in South West London between July 16, 1998, and February 28, 1999.

A man and a woman from London have been charged with murder and are awaiting trial.

A Met Police press officer declined to say what they were searching for. The group contained an incident van from Kent Police and at least two police cars.

The Butterstone Cattery and Kennels in Hillside, Well Lane, near the scene, said the first they knew about the search was when staff came in on Thursday morning to say police had blocked off the road.
