A jury has retired to consider a verdict in the trial of a Medway man accused of murdering a friend.

Deke Partridge, 27, of Manette House, Maidstone Road, Chatham, denied murdering Tim Hutcheon on January 26 last year.

Mr Hutcheon, 34, a former pupil of King's School, Rochester, was stabbed 10 times at his bungalow in Dale Street, Chatham. His body was not discovered until February 4.

Partridge, who has mental problems, claimed he was out visiting people on the day of the killing.

Mr Hutcheon also had drug-induced mental problems, having taken cannabis while at Humberside University, where he graduated in business studies and German.
