Herne Bay robber holds staff at knife-point before stealing cigarettes

A teen robber held shop staff at knife-point before making off with cigarettes.

The bandana-clad young man had entered a shop in Sea Street, Herne Bay, near its junction with Albany Drive, carrying a blade.

The boy, thought to be in his late teens, demanded staff hand over money.

But the employees refused, prompting him to steal packets of cigarettes before leaving the shop in the direction of Albany Drive.

The suspect is described at white, about 5ft 8ins tall, and with blond hair. He reportedly wore a white bandana which partially covered his face, as well as a navy blue tracksuit with white stripe details.

Police are investigating the robbery, which happened just before 10pm last Tuesday (October 22).

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and saw anything suspicious, or may have dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist the investigation.
