Man arrested after 'domestic incident'

A road in Folkestone was completely closed off today after reports a woman had been assaulted.

Specialist police officers, including trained negotiators, were called to the scene in Alexandra Street, Folkestone, at around 12.20am.

Police are describing it as a "domestic incident".

A 49-year-old man handed himself over to police shortly before 8am. He was arrested and is currently in custody.
