A MAN has appeared before a court accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in her home.

Paul Fleet, 42, of Hertford Court, Warwick Road, Canterbury, is alleged to have attacked the woman in the city early on Sunday morning.

He was charged with two offences of rape by police on Monday night and appeared on Tuesday before Canterbury magistrates who committed him to Canterbury Crown Court. He was remanded in custody.

Fleet's solicitor, Ian Bond, made no application for bail. Fleet is due before the crown court on Monday, January 22.
