Young athletes shine for county

Twelve youngsters from Ashford AC put in sterling performances for Kent in an inter-county sportshall competition.

The outstanding performances came from Abigail Purkis (under-13s eight lap parlauf gold), Lauren Bamford (under-13 speed bounce silver), Lucy Holmes (under-15 speed bounce silver) and Lizzie Highwood (under-13 shot putt silver).

Other Ashford athletes to compete were Katherine Buckley, Harry Middleton, Kirsten Hooton, Samantha Lynch, Laura Hanagan, Sophie Hamlyn, Jack Huxley and Morgan Regardsoe.
