TIME is running out for teams wanting to take part in south Kent’s biggest charity quiz night.

The mammoth wine and wisdom evening will take place at the Stour Centre, Ashford at 7pm on Friday, November 9. Teams have until noon on Wednesday, October 31 to book their table either by applying online at the Big Quiz section of the website www.kentwalkingbus.org

A table costs £56 and seats eight people, the price includes a ploughman’s meal and complimentary glass of Gallo wine supplied by Threshers of Hythe.

Teams will compete for a range of prizes and trophies with extra honours going to the top placed teams from the health service, local government and the KM Group. To set a new south Kent record more than 50 teams of eight must take part.

The causes that will benefit from this year’s event include the Pilgrim’s Hospices in East Kent, Mayor of Ashford’s Charity Appeal, League of Friends at Ashford Hospital and the award winning children’s road safety charity Kent Walking Bus.

Boots is the latest organisation to sign up to support the event, supplying a host of prizes for the raffle, as well as at least four teams of staff and their families to take part. An engraved shield and prize will be provided to the top placed Boots team by event organisers.

Event co-host Mike Claughton, who will share the questionmaster duties with Simon Dolby from the KM, visited Boots to thank staff for their support and found himself in the chair of No.7 consultant Jade Ansell who was keen to try out some of her products on the former Mayor of Ashford.

Jade and electrical beauty consultant Sue Young has put together two hampers of products, one containing the Protect and Effect anti aging serum and new body serum, as well as items from the best selling Indulgent bathing range. Electrical products include the Remington all in one grooming kit, valued at £17.99, Revlon hair dryer at £12.99 and Babyliss Be Gorgeous complete styling kit valued at £49.99, but currently available at £24.99.

Boot Big Quiz co-ordinator Jade said: “We are delighted to support the KE Big Quiz. All the causes are excellent and this is a fun way we can support the local community.”

The KE Big Quiz is sponsored by Threshers of Hythe, Shepherd Neame, Hillread Homes and P&O Ferries. Also providing top raffle prizes for the event are Eastwell Manor, which has provided two spa days, and the Holdiay Inn, Bybrook.
